NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde's Sexual Health Website

Sandyford Central is based at 2/6 Sandyford Place, Sauchiehall St, Glasgow, G3 7NB. Tel: 0141 211 8130.  Our most popular service is the Walk-In clinics as you don't need to have an appointment. This clinic is often busy and you can usually expect to have to wait to be seen, however we also have a range of specialist clinics in sexual, reproductive and emotional health services where you can book an appointment in advance. Have a look at our video - it tells you what we do and what to expect when you visit.

From 23rd July 2014 until 3rd August 2014 Glasgow will host the Commonwealth Games so roads and public transport in Glasgow are expected to be busier than normal.  There may be changes to timetables, road access and locations during the Games. If you are travelling to one of the Sandyford services, plan your journey in advance allowing extra time to travel in case of road closures, diversion or delays. Further information is available at www.getreadyglasgow.com.

You are your child's first and most important teacher. This includes helping your child learn about growing up, their bodies, puberty and relationships. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are currently undertaking a consultation to learn what support you as a parent would like to be able to communicate with your child. Please take a few minutes to complete the short survey at www.askparents.co.uk

Holidays are a chance to meet new people & maybe to have sex with them or get closer to someone you already know, but with alcohol and high rates of sexual infections (STIs) in some destinations, it pays to take extra care. Unprotected sex on holiday can have the same results as when you're at home. Whether young, old, straight or gay, you can find out how to protect yourself, & where to go for help if you need it, here. Sexual health also means enjoying the sexual activity you want, safely, without causing you or anyone else any suffering. You might not get good quality condoms on holiday, so be prepared - try to pack a supply before you go & check our library news for resources.

Ever wondered how many units of alcohol you drink or how many calories are in your favourite tipple? Are you concerned it may be an issue? Use our Alcolator to calculate how many units you drink, then use the Alco-check to see whether its a safe amount or not. If you're worried about your score, free confidential Alcohol Brief Interventions are available at Sandyford Central.

Ticketing System @ Sandyford Central

Did you know we've introduced a Ticketing System at Sandyford Central Walk in service? We know there is often a long wait at Sandyford Central Walk-In services, so to make things easier, when you register at reception, you will be given a ticket number and a timeframe of when you should be seen, meaning you can leave the building and come back later without losing your space in the queue.  To find out more visit our Sandyford Central Walk in service page.
