Counselling & Support Service

Our Counselling services at Sandyford offer a safe, confidential, reliable and judgement free place to talk to a trained professional.   SCASS (Sandyford Counselling & Support Service) provides counselling to individuals who have sexual or reproductive health issues or concerns which are affecting their psychologicial sexual well being, i.e. Child Sexual Abuse, Rape and Sexual Assault, Sexuality issues, Sexual Health issues, Gender Identity, Identify as Gay, Bisexual, Men who have sex with Men, women who had had a termination of pregnancy.  We also offer specialist counselling (criteria as above) for young people (aged 17 years and younger) and Listening Ear which offers short-term emotional support.

Our counselling services accept self-referrals by calling the above number; we also accept referrals made by your GP or other health professionals or services you are attending. An initial referral form will be asked to be completed prior to being accepted by the service.


All counsellors are bound by the NHS Code of Confidentiality, British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy’s Ethical Framework & British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Therapies.  The need to respect client confidentiality is a core principle of counselling. There are exceptions to this confidentiality, for example if you are at risk, but this will be explained in more detail at your first meeting with a counsellor.
