Patients can self refer to Sandyford services by calling 0141 211 8130 and choosing Option One. An experienced sexual health nurse will be available to discuss a suitable appointment. If the patient needs to be seen urgently this will be arranged.
You can refer a patient via the SCI Gateway. All referrals received in this way are reviewed on a regular basis by a member of the medical team and the most appropriate appointment is sent out to the patient. This is the preferred method of written referral.
You can send a written referral by post and it will be reviewed on arrival, but this method is usually slower than a SCI referral and may result in a delay in your patient being seen.
You can ring the Professional helpline for advice to discuss if a referral is appropriate and the best way to refer. Phone 0141 211 8646, lines are open Monday to Friday 9.00am – 4.30pm
Ask them to call for an appointment on 0141 211 8130 or they can go to a chemist or speak to someone at NHS 24. They may need a sexual health screening as well as emergency contraception.
