Everybody knows how to put on a condom right?

Well, most people have a fair idea of how to use them, but sometimes condoms can fail, and this usually happens because they are not being used correctly.

So here's a guided tour of putting on a condom!

Make sure you are using the right kind of condom for the kind of sex you are going to have. You might want to use a flavoured one for oral sex or an extra strong one for penetrative sex. To make sure you are using the right kind, you can come into The Place and pick some up for free and talk over what kind you need.

Every condom has an expiry date just like most food does. If the condom is out of date, do not use it. Also make sure the condom wrapper is still intact and not all crumpled.
Tear one corner of the foil and squeeze the opposite end to remove the condom.
Condoms are strong but can be torn by sharp fingernails or jewelry so handle carefully.

The condom should only be put onto a fully erect penis.

Make sure you have the condom the right way round before putting it onto the penis. Make sure the unrolling rim is to the outside.

Place the condom onto the penis and then squeeze the air out of the tip.

If you don't do this you can get air trapped in the tip and then when you or the guy comes there's nowhere for the come to go so the condom can burst.

It's a really good idea to use a water based lubricant like KY jelly with condoms. This makes penetrative sex easier (and therefore more enjoyable!). It also makes the condom less likely to burst with the friction. DO NOT use oil based lubricants like vaseline or baby oil because they will damage the condom. While having sex, it's a good idea to occasionally check the condom is still in place.

After coming, withdraw your/his penis quickly before it goes soft or else semen could escape from the condom.

Keep the condom on until the you/he has fully withdrawn the penis. Take it off carefully making sure you don't get any fluids near you or your partners body.

Tie a knot in the condom, wrap it in tissue paper and put it in a waste bin. Don't flush it down the toilet as they are bad for the environment and don't always flush away which saves you having to explain what a condom is doing floating in the loo!

Make sure you use a new condom for every time you have sex. Do not use the same condom twice and do not try to use two at the same time, as this makes it more likely to burst and it wont feel very good either
