After more than10 years of service to the gay community, the Steve Retson Project has fulfilled many of the original dreams and aspirations for the service, and the experience gained in the process has been immeasurable. However, we aren't going to rest on our laurels. We need to further develop, expand and improve our service.
Here are some of the things we want to do with the Project in the future:
- reduce waiting times
- increase the attractiveness of the project to young gay men
- continue to improve adherence to vaccination courses
- support services who seek to be gay friendly
- undertake more research and analysis of gay men's health needs
- create more ways in which self-confidence and self-esteem can be developed
- establish a broader health promotion and information unit
- use information technology to promote better health
- undertake outreach work
- create a health service which is as good as possible!
