What happens?

A sexual health check involves having swabs and urine tests for infections such as Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia. Blood tests are also offered for Syphilis and Hepatitis.

The Steve Retson Project will not test for HIV unless you ask them.

If you are having a sexual health screen please do not pass urine for 2-3 hours prior to your appointment time, (otherwise you may need to re-attend).

The test usually takes about 15 minutes, you may be asked to wait within the clinic for results. If you have an infection, you will be seen by a Sexual Health Advisor, who will provide you with information about your infection. You will then be given any treatment required..
