The Steve Retson Project (also known as the
SRP) is a sexual health clinic especially for gay
and bisexual men, and men who have sex with men.
At the project we provide:
- Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
(STIs) including HIV
- Vaccinations for hepatitis A and B
- Free condoms and lube (we can register you for a C-card which
you can use at other places in Glasgow to get free condoms
too)
- Counselling, advice and information on all aspects of men's
health.
The clinic is free and confidential. You can contact us directly
and arrange to come in without first having to see your own family
doctor (GP).
What happens when you come to the clinic?
When you arrive, go to the receptionist who will tell you where
to go and wait, so that you are in the right place for your
appointment. At the clinics we also have host-helpers who are
members of staff who make sure you feel welcome and know how the
clinic works.
When one of the clinical staff is free they will ask you to come
to one of the private consulting rooms. They will then discuss with
you the concerns that you have but you will be asked some personal
questions about your previous and most recent sexual activity. It's
important to answer honestly as what you say might affect the
advice, tests and treatment you are given. There's no need to be
embarrassed about this - staff are not there to judge you. Anything
you say will be kept confidential.
You can of course use any of our Sandyford
Clinics but if you'd prefer to come to Steve Retson Project
clinics get in touch with us.
