C-Card ~
NEW: C-CARD SERVICE : access to free condoms

What is C Card?

C Card is a service in Glasgow offering you access to a range of free condoms with minimum embarrassment. There are different types of C Card venues across Glasgow.

How does it work?

To get your free condoms you will need to register at one of the C Card registration sites. If you are under 16 there are specific places for you to register to get free condoms. Once you have registered you can then pick up free condoms from distribution sites in Glasgow.

How do I register?

You can go along to a C Card registration site to register, the only information you will be asked to supply is the first part of your postcode and your date of birth. You will also have a chance to have a confidential and private chat about condom choice, sexual health or relationship issues, if you would find it helpful.

You will then be given your C Card which you will need to show at distribution sites before you will be given your free condoms.

What happens once I've registered?

What if I am under 16?

The law says that you are not allowed to have sex under the age of 16. However, sometimes people start sexual relationships before this age, or might want to try out condoms on their own to see what they're like. If you are under 16 you can still access confidential support or services on offer to adults as long as workers believe that you are capable of understanding the information provided to you. Therefore, if you're under 16 to register for C Card you will have to go to one of the special C Card sites especially for people under 16. At these sites you will have to have a chat with one of the workers there before you can get condoms. All staff are friendly and welcoming and will keep your confidentiality unless they think you are at risk of serious harm. They will always consult you before telling anyone else.

If you are 13 or 14 you will be issued with a purple card and will be seen by a trained member of staff each time you attend for condoms to make sure you are still ok and that nothing has changed since your last visit.

* If you are under 16 and do not have a service for young people in your area, you will be able to register and collect from any of the Family Planning Clinics listed in this link: your local registration and distribution centre
