Principle Five~
To be gender sensitive and anti-discriminatory in work and practice.

Providing services for women and men:

Most of Sandyford’s services can be accessed by both women and men, although there are gender specific services. For women, reproductive health services provide clinical care for women of all ages and across all lifestages. These services include hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, and colposcopic treatment.

The Centre For Women’s Health provides a women-only space, in which counselling and group work, and information and referrals to other services takes place.

Sandyford operates within the framework of the Glasgow Women’s Health Policy (a multi agency strategy aimed at developing services for women informed by a gendered social model of health).

For men, besides the Steve Retson Project, Sandyford provides gender-specific reproductive health services like vasectomy, as well the full range of Sandyford services. To respond to unmet need Sandyford will soon be offering counselling for men and considering how best to address other aspects of men’s health
