Principle Three ~
To have ongoing consultations with current and potential service users to ensure the planning and delivery of equitable and accessible service.

Consulting with Sandyford users to obtain feedback, comments and ideas:

Sandyford undertakes regular consultation exercises with service users to ensure services are appropriate, accessible and held at convenient times. Various large public events have been held to encourage access to Sandyford to gather user comments.

Following the official launch of the Sandyford by the Health Minister in September 2000, a public open day was held which encouraged current and potential service users to come and look around and find out more about the services available.

“How was it for you?” - a large scale user consultation in February 2002 linked to Valentines Day - involved staff carrying out interviews with Sandyford users.

The Asian and Chinese users day in April 2002 attracted over 200 visitors, many attending for the first time, who fed back their views and observations.
