Our Counselling services at Sandyford offer a safe, confidential, reliable and judgement free place to talk to a trained professional. Counselling may be able to help you with sexual abuse, sexual assault, rape, sexuality issues, or trauma which is impacting on your sexual and emotional development.
We offer different types of counselling services, such as counselling for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, specialist counselling for young people (aged 17 years and younger), counselling for people who identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual, Transgender counselling, and Listening ear which offers immediate and short-term emotional support.
You can get information about the full range of counselling therapies and services we offer by phoning Sandyford Counselling and Support Services (SCASS) on 0141 211 6700 and requesting an information pack.
Our counselling services accept self-referrals by calling the above number, but in some cases referrals can also be made by your GP or other health professionals or services you are attending.
All counsellors are bound by the NHS Code of Confidentiality and also the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy’s Ethical Framework. The need to respect client confidentiality is a core principle of counselling. There are exceptions to this confidentiality, for example if you are at risk, but this will be explained in more detail at your first meeting with a counsellor.
