Let's talk about the menopause

09 MAY 2017 - 10:26 to 19 MAY 2017 - 10:26

Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark has recently fronted a documentary, looking at the most common questions about the menopause.  The programme looks at the issues surrounding the menopause and Wark candidly shares her own experiences, after a hysterectomy brought on the onset of “medical menopause”. She talks about the hot flashes, the disturbed sleep and how she coped with the physical changes for the last 12 years. It's also worth a watch for partners, husbands, family, friends and employers, to help give them an understanding of what women go through when they enter the menopause.

Kirsty Wark: The Menopause and Me is available to watch on BBC iPlayer

Here at Sandyford our Menopause Service supports women who experience symptoms when the ovaries stop producing oestrogen such as hot flushes, sweats, mood changes, headaches and joint aches.   You can phone 0141 211 8130 for an appointment or your GP can refer you.
