Sunday 18 March is Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Awareness Day. The day is intended to highlight that CSE is a form of sexual abuse that involves the manipulation and/or coercion of young people under the age of 18 into sexual activity.
Over the past 18 months, the Glasgow Child Protection Committee has worked hard to highlight and promote public and staff awareness of this issue. As part of this, the Committee have prepared an information card for all social work and health colleagues. The card details potential signs of sexual exploitation and what to do if you are concerned about a child or young person.
Please take time to read the card and, if you are concerned about any children or young people you know or work with, follow the guidance outlined on it.
