All schools are expected to provide education about sex and
relationships. The
Scottish Government provides guidance
to help schools present sex and relationship education in a
sensitive and non-biased way. The school should also consult with
parents/carers about their programmes. You can find out about
what your child's school is doing by:
- Requesting to see a copy of the sex and relationship education
policy and/or a copy of the programme for your child's class. This
will allow you to support what the school is doing at home.
- Asking to see the resources used in the classroom. You may be
able to borrow books or DVDs to use with your child at home.
