Becoming an adult should be an exciting time for your child
but working out how to define themsleves, to find out where
they fit in and where they don't can be hard for you and them. It
can be a confusing time, including not being clear about
their sexual orientation. It may take time for some people to
understand their sexual feelings - that's OK.
If you or your child think they are gay,
lesbian or bisexual, or if you're unsure about their sexual
orientation there are confidential services you can contact for
information and support:

offering helplines run by a group of parents of lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender children. Providing help, information
and support for parents and families of LGBT childrenn http://www.parentsenquiryscotland.org/

support on their website at http://www.lgbtyouth.org.uk

mental health and much more. All you need to tell us is your age
and where you are. All texts are picked up by trained youth work
staff who can help you out at the touch of a button. Text

Learning that your son is attracted to men can be
unsettling. You might be completely fine, but many fathers
find this news difficult. A leaflet titled "Dad, i've got something to tell you"
gives answers to some of the questions you might have when you find
out "my son is gay".
